While I was traveling this summer, I picked up a copy of the August O Magazine and found some business advice from Suze Orman that just sent me into a tail spin.First off, I know Suze’s a conservative financial advisor. I’ve NEVER heard her tell anyone, “Yes, go ahead and buy that car you really want, Sweetie! Splurge on the Louis Vuitton bag. And take the kids to Hawaii NOW, not later. I mean, you could die tomorrow; you never know. Go for it, girlfriend! Life is about LIVING!!!”
And admittedly, for most of the lost souls who are calling into her show or writing her for advice, her conservative recommendations are surely the best ones. So I always read her column braced for this type of counsel.
This month she offered some advice on how to prepare to start a business. I saw the title and perked up. But what I read caused me to nearly choke on my airplane peanuts! (Read my full article here at Forbes.com)
