In 2010 I was invited to be on an ABC show called Secret Millionaire.
During the weeklong shoot, I was stripped of my identity, lived on welfare wages of $55, and volunteered in some emotional situations. And at the end of the week I gave away $100,000 to some really deserving people in my community. It was quite an experience.
When you watch that episode (which aired as the Season 2 Finale in 2011, which you can view on Amazon), you will see me transform before your eyes.
People ask me, “Wow Ali, was that experience hard for you?”
And they typically look stunned at my answer, which is…
“Actually, I didn’t want to come back.”
THAT is how I knew something was wrong with my life.
I realized I was more happy that week eating ramen noodles, living in a crappy apartment, and working with the homeless than I was with my pre-determined, busy, and “fantastic” life.
During that week of filming, I had…
Space. Time. Peace. Love.
I was able to truly experience people and have time to be with myself, which led to my reaching out to God again. To connect, pray, and say, “I’m sorry I lost touch with you.”
So when I came back, I started making changes. Some of you likely noticed. I streamlined the business. Got rid of anything I just didn’t enjoy anymore, or things that started out fun but weren’t fun anymore… because we had put all this pressure on ourselves to grow them too fast. I decided to end many of my various business-training programs at the time and reinvent them into one powerful, streamlined one called Elevate.
And it felt great. I got back to LOVING my business again. And my life.
(And not un-coincidentally, my income rose. Without as much work. Hmmm.)
I’m going through another process like this again. Looking at what’s really important to me, and what’s not. Becoming a new mom (of twins!) has really forced me to sift out the great from the good, and the good from the “meh”.
And to keep things simple.
And most of all, to stay on my chosen path.
(That involves saying “no” a lot, by the way. Sometimes much harder than saying “yes”.)
But how do you know? What is your path? What’s your true mission? How do you know what to say “yes” to and what to say “no” to?
And how do you let go of that ongoing ANXIETY about, well, everything??!!!
I’d like to help show you the way, on a new, free call I’m hosting on May 8.
It’s called “Revelation! 3 Keys to Honoring Your Highest Calling”, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever done before.
But I know it’s time. To share it all.
Come join me? Take a peek here now.
Love and success,
P.S. I’ve been listening, and this is what you’ve been asking me for. Thank you.
