If you were 25 and living the high life as a hotshot Hollywood agent, would you walk away without knowing quite what you were getting into? That’s exactly what Christine Hassler did, and she’s here to talk about it all on this week’s Glambition Radio.
When we set goals and map out dreams that DON’T turn out as expected, how do you handle that? Christine says this is an epidemic for women right now… and she calls it the Expectation Hangover, which is the title of her latest book. It’s a frank, wise, and so-smart guide for dealing with —and leveraging—the many challenges and curveballs that life throws at us.
I can relate. As I began to study success I was originally taught to map out every one of my goals with incredible detail. Then, when a goal wasn’t reached, I felt like an incredible failure. I would definitely call it an expectation hangover. And we had an incredible discussion around this on the show.
Christine began her evolution as a Gen Y expert with a discussion group for quarter-lifers in Los Angeles struggling with questions about themselves and their lives. As she continued her investigation of herself and others, she began to craft a roadmap for life for people of all ages which includes discovery, self-acceptance, self-forgiveness and clarity.
In 2005 Christine wrote the book 20 Something, 20 Everything, aimed at young women, and then released The 20 Something Manifesto. Now in her 30s, the Expectation Hangover is here! (Wonder what’s going to come in her 40s? ;))
