It started with a sandwich cart in Downtown Boston. Stacy Madison, founder of Stacy’s Snacks, began baking leftover pita bread into chips to give to her waiting customers. And when people started asking to buy the chips, Stacy knew she was on to something.
On Glambition Radio, Stacy shares how she turned her cart into a nationally-recognized snack company (later acquired for $250 million), and how she used ‘street smarts’ to excel in the food industry (her background is social work!). And, Stacy opens up about the hardships of building her company and providing for two young children—twins—at home.
She also reveals her exciting new venture: Be Bold Bars. The all-natural snack bars are ‘feeding her passion’, allowing her to return to the healthy snacks industry now that her children are older. I can’t wait to try the bars—they are made with nut butters and other whole food ingredients, and they sound delicious.
On this week’s episode of #GlambitionRadio, you’ll hear:
*The moment Stacy knew her pita chips brand was taking off (and how a piece of litter made her realize it—this is a funny story)
*The steps she took from idea to inception
*How lost she felt after selling her company, and how she found new purpose, which led to the creation of Be Bold Bars
*Why she feels responsible as a female entrepreneur to ‘put a bit of sanity into an insane world’, and how Stacy’s Rise Project provides funding, mentorship and community to up-and-coming female entrepreneurs.
