“Mattress Moves So Hot… His Thighs Will Burst into Flames” and “Never Lose an Orgasm Again”. Headlines like these catch your eye, and they sell magazines. And it takes a gutsy gal to put them out there.
THAT is just one of the reasons why I love Kate White, whom you most likely know as the former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine. And I am over the moon she said YES to being my guest on this week’s Glambition Radio.
Kate’s first career book changed my life back in the mid-90s: Why Good Girls Don’t Get Ahead… But Gutsy Girls Do. It was the first advice I’d ever read that really encouraged me to just go for it… to ask for what I wanted, get clear on my dreams, and not let anything hold me back.
I remember reading that book one weekend, getting all fired up, and walking into my boss’s office on Monday and… well, you have to listen to the interview to hear what happened! His jaw dropped to the floor.

After being the editor-in-chief of four magazines, she was offered the Cosmo gig in 1998. In the 14 years she was there, she grew the circulation by 700,000 and took it to #1 on the newsstands.

But what I actually didn’t realize until we secured this interview with Kate is that she is also the bestselling author of nine works of fiction. Her newest book, Eyes On You, comes out later this month. I’m not usually into these types of books, but this psychological thriller sounds like a perfect summer read to get my mind off work. She walks us through the plot a bit on the show.
Kate’s also a mom, and I asked her how she ran a powerful magazine while also raising two young kids in New York City. I mean, I can’t imagine doing that all at once. (Oh wait, I can. I’m doing all this now with one-year-old twins.) But you’re going to love her refreshing take on this subject.
