Kylie Hammond on Glambition Radio with Ali BrownHave you ever thought about grooming yourself to sit on the board of a company? Or assemble a board for your own enterprise? Maybe you haven’t… yet. But Australian entrepreneur Kylie Hammond wants YOU, because she’s giving the world of boards a global makeover. The image of stodgy old white men sitting stiffly in a smoky conference room is not only outdated, it’s ineffective, and Kylie is leading the charge to bring women, millennials, and modern technology into the picture.
On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Kylie shares why she’s made it her mission to break barriers in the boardroom as the CEO of the fastest growing network of director talent, Director Institute: Next Generation Directors.

How could YOU be in demand? Studies are now proving that boards and executive teams that feature a mix of both male and female members perform better. Having board members from differing skillsets, backgrounds, and even generations can make a world of difference in the performance of a company. Also, the voices of women – the world’s most influential consumers – are vital to business survival.

Diversity isn’t just good sense, it’s good business.

When Kylie’s parents lost their money to badly run and corrupt companies, her path to change the corporate status quo was set in motion. Her early career was in human resources, then she worked her way up to recruiting senior executives and CEOs for global corporations like Cisco, PeopleSoft, and Deloitte. Her 20 years of finding the right executives for the job reinforced the early lesson she learned from her parents’ financial downfall – that old school thinking of who you need in the boardroom doesn’t work anymore – and CEOs must refresh their talent pools.

Kylie has been pushing for boardroom diversity for years – particularly the addition of women – because she’s seen first hand that conversations between people from different skill sets and different walks of life lead to better corporate decisions.

On this episode of Glambition Radio, Kylie and I talk mission critical networking, why women must take a seat at the boardroom table, and how YOU can get involved.
