What do stripper boots and donating to a good cause have to do with each other? You’re going to find out on this week’s episode of Glambition Radio.
I first met Monika Wiela a few months ago at the Forbes Women’s Summit and we hit it off. Originally a rising marketing executive in Poland, she moved to Chicago in 2006 to pursue the American Dream.
She started her own business exporting shoes back to Poland, and in 2012, opened a shoe website called StyleUpGirl.com, specializing in fun, affordable, trendy footwear. (And I had to joke with her about some of the sexy boots!)
The idea behind Monika’s second venture, GiveBackBox.com, stemmed from the homelessness she witnessed in Chicago, and the need she saw for simple things like a pair of shoes.
The answer was in the BOX.
How many of you have boxes from retailers like Amazon piling up in your garage? I know I do. So Monika decided to convince online retailers to provide pre-paid mailing labels in every box they ship out… so that shoppers can stuff the empty boxes with donated clothes and shoes and ship them free to charities.
You’re recycling the box, you’re recycling your household items, and people in need are benefiting. It’s a win-win-win. You can even print the free shipping label right off her website, GiveBackBox.com. UPS, Overstock.com, and Goodwill are all involved in this venture so far, and it’s really taking off.
On this episode of Glambition Radio, you’ll hear how Monika NEVER took “no” for an answer, even when people said her idea was crazy and would never work. Plus, a lot of really great advice that you can start implementing in your business (and your life) right now.
She’s a really genuine, positive gal and I know you’re going to love this episode. You can listen to this episode of Glambition Radio by clicking the play button below. And if you want to hear my most recent episodes head over to iTunes to listen or subscribe for automatic updates.
