Her resume reads like an ambitious woman’s dream: CEO of Clif Bar, cofounder and CEO of Plum Organics, and now founder and CEO of REBBL super herb beverages.

But what I loved MOST about Sheryl O’Loughlin—and why I wanted her on the show – is she tells it like it is: your personal life is often the hidden cost of building an uber-successful career or business.

Boom. Wow. Finally someone is talking about this.

Sheryl almost paid the ultimate price when she started her first company, ending in a downward spiral of an eating disorder. But, when she learned to balance the demands of her growing business, her family’s needs, and her own mental and physical health, she was able to build Plum Organics into multi-million dollar business.

On this episode of Glambition Radio, Sheryl gives us a close-up look at the raw experiences behind the wisdom of her new book, “Killing It: An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Keeping Your Head Without Losing Your Heart.”

At one point Sheryl’s life was totally immersed in the world of entrepreneurship. She and her husband, Patrick, had committed their life savings to his and her start-ups. When Patrick’s business failed, the family was plunged into overwhelming debt – and the reality of building a business hit them hard. For entrepreneurs, what happens to the business happens to the family. They gave up the cool house and all the usual accoutrements that come with success. They had a long hard talk with their kids about the changes that needed to happen. There were some very dark days – but in the end, they bet their future on Sheryl’s business, Plum Organics. And when Plum took off, it changed everything.

Click play above to hear why Sheryl believes the power of business can create positive change for the world in her this Glambition Radio interview.

Sheryl knows first hand the personal and professional stakes of building a business – she’s learned the hard way – and has made it a life goal to teach other entrepreneurs how to invest in themselves.

On this episode of Glambition Radio, Sheryl and I bond over the business of bold humility, epic journeys, and baby food squirt pouches. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So click play above and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later).
